What if I told you that all you needed to get you stress-free was a few hours of running around in a computer simulation? Yup, that's right.
It has been medically proven that approximately 21 hours a week in front of the screen drastically improves health, mental capacity and fitness in an elderly person. It also helps with therapy and relaxation of the person, especially when they feel overwhelmed or stressful.
In terms of social life, games have been known to connect people and bring them closer. Makes sense, considering that we play most games on consoles and other devices with our close friends, thanks to the Multiplayer feature. This is the reason why the gaming world is so into Role-Playing Games and global online games. In fact, a recent survey about married couples revealed that 76% of married couples that play games agreed that RPGs have a positive effect on their marriages. Crazy cool, right?
It's apparent that there's more than meets the eye with games (see what I did there?), but that does not mean that gaming doesn't have it's downs. Remember, too much of a good thin is bad. It's no different with gaming. Over-excessive gaming is known to cause sleeping problems like Insomnia, hallucinations and paranoia. Restlessness can soon occur and at that point in time, you're hooked.
